Lenny Dykstra, the 55-year-old former star outfielder for the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, and current Linden resident, is as infamous for his bevy of off-field incidents and run-ins with the law as he is for his on-field play.He was arrested again on Wednesday, this time on charges he threatened to kill an Uber driver while in possession of cocaine and ecstasy, authorities said. But that was not even close to the beginning of the legal problems for Dykstra, a 1986 World Series champion, three-time All Star and 12-year MLB veteran. His exploits include a drunk driving crash, indecent exposure charges, sexual assault allegations, a federal bankruptcy case and grand theft auto case that landed him in jail for several months.Dykstra began his career as a prized prospect before being called up to the big leagues by the New York Mets in 1985. He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1989. It was shortly after that trade that his legal woes began.
